Hello Pandas!
Thanks for stopping by to read this post in my new home! I normally like to test products out very thoroughly for a few weeks before I review them in depth for you, and the testing process has begun with these lovelies, but since ColourPop does tend to sell out, I wanted to give you my first impressions on their Fall 2015 collection inspired by the 90’s—the decade I grew up in (yay!)—so that you can grab something while it is still available.
I picked up four items from this collection: one lippie stix, one blush, and two eye shadows. I absolutely adore all of the names and chose many of the items based on the names (I just can’t help myself!)
The shadows I picked are Boy Band, which is a gorgeous warm bronze with a touch of pale pink shimmer to it and Plaid, a muted yet shimmer forest green (if that makes sense).
If you have never tried the super shock shadow formula before, I recommend definitely picking up one from the new collection. I feel the permanent collection works really well, but these are a tad bit creamier and easier to apply. These newer ones blend a bit easier as well. I am still testing these but the super shocks do stay on my oily lids all day with primer and don’t crease or ball up.
Boy Band is a wear everywhere color. It is slightly autumnal and has a richness to it that I love. The super fine pink glimmer is unique as well. I love the name. I was definitely an N*SYNC girl growing up. I must have gone to about 7 of their concerts!
Plaid is a little smoky and I think would work great for a fun twist on a smoky eye this fall/winter. It is a very deep green and has a slight metallic sheen to it. And the name totally reminds me of any one of Cher’s fabulous outfits in Clueless.
Cruel Intentions is a new super shock blush from the Fall 2015 collection and is a very pretty dusty rose color. This formula tends to last quite a while on my drier cheeks and I recently discovered a really great way to apply these. Use a dry beautyblender or sponge to gently tap into the pot and then tap on the cheeks. This one is super pigmented though, so a little goes a long way!
I am so in love with this color. It is perfect for fall!
Contempo is one of ColourPop’s lippie stix and this one is in a matte finish, which I find to be more of a satin matte and more comfortable to wear so far than some of their other matte lippie stix. This color is kind of the lip version of the Cruel Intentions blush, a dusty rose that is oh-so flattering. But to be honest I picked this shade because of the name! Momma and Papa Panda met there!
Contempo is a wonderful everyday color that I know I will be reaching for a lot this fall!
Here is a quick look I put together wearing Boy Band as a wash of color on my lids, Cruel Intentions lightly on my cheeks, and Contempo on my lips!
ColourPop is an LA based brand and the Lippie Stix are $5, Shadows are $5, and Blushes are $8. I don’t think this Fall collection will last, so grab what you like!
Do you have a fave memory from the 90’s? I’d love to know!
They create a very soft and beautiful look. I just picked up a nail lacquer that has the same color as boy band. Very pretty for Fall. The 90’s were definitely fun. I loved Clueless. HaHaHa
