Frankening polish is something that has become really big. Indie polish companies are springing up everywhere and I love them! I wanted to finally try my hand at frankening, so I bought the supplies and sat down this morning to give it a go.
Here is my first bottle. I basically bought so clear coat polish, dumped half of it out, added eye shadow pigment and lots of glitter. And I shook the bottle like a mad woman.
This combo was made with antique gold shadow, fine turquoise glitter, turquoise bar glitter, and large round gold glitter. Pretty right?
I’m actually really in love with this one. I have no clue what I am going to name it though. This is an example of a franken that I was just messing around with and it turned out amazing.
I wanted an inky base, so I added matte black shadow. I mixed in fine purple and lime glitter and some black bar glitter.
It looks pretty in the bottle, but the effect just didn’t come out in the swatches as I hoped it would.
The black one just looks bumpy. The glitter doesn’t show up at all…and I put A LOT in. The gold one has more of the effect I want, but after all, this was my first attempt.
Overall, a fun first attempt. When I get good, I want to open my own indie polish store on Etsy. I know I have a knack for fun color combos, but I just have to get the technique down.
Have you ever frankened before? What is your fave creation?
